چکیده
New lubricants based on vegetable oil were developed in this study. Different blends of canola mixed with fully synthetic two stock engine oils (0, 20%, 40%, 60%, and 80% oil). The viscosity the prepared was determined at different temperatures (20°C–80°C). Tribological experiments conducted to investigate effect newly wear characteristics mild steel material compared stainless when subjected adhesive loading. weight loss (WL) specific rate (SWR) using each determined. Scanning electron microscopy used examine worn surface steel. results revealed that pure as a lubricant performed competitively against blend 20% oils. its various are controlled by environmental temperature since an increased reduces viscosity. Also, experimental operating parameters play main role controlling behavior increasing sliding distances increases loss. exhibited steady state after about 5 km distance, influenced applied loads velocity differently. mixing ratio syntactic not particularly significant competitive performance blends. However, intermediate (40%–60% 60%–40% canola) can produce slightly low among other things.

Tribological Characteristics of the Surface Layer of Steel Modified with Boron under Mixed Friction Conditions
The aim of the present work is to determine the influence of technologically produced boron surface layers on the friction parameters in the sliding pairs under mixed friction conditions. The current boronizing processes allow obtaining surface layers of high hardness and high resistance to corrosion and wear, with low brittleness and no tendencies towards cracking However, the operation charac...
متن کاملExperimental analysis of tribological properties of biolubricant with nanoparticle additive
This study examined the tribological properties of two lubricating oils, paraffin oil and biolubricant added with TiO2 nanoparticles used as additives. Biolubricant used in this experimental was derived from palm oil-based TMP (trimethylolpropane) ester. The TMP ester is produced from palm oil, which is biodegradable and has high lubricity properties such as a higher flash point temperature and...
متن کاملStudy of Vapour Phase Corrosion Inhibitors for Mild Steel under different Atmospheric Conditions
Mild steel is used as main raw material in fabrication of equipment, chief material of construction and as weapons. During the storage and transportation conditions, it comes in contact with aggressive environment which leads to decrease in mechanical strength. Four different vapor phase corrosion inhibitors (VPCIs) i.e. n-Caprylic acid (CA), nButyric acid (BA), N,N-dimethyl propylene urea (DMP...
متن کاملInvestigation of Adhesion and Tribological Behavior of Borided AISI 310 Stainless Steel
In the present study, the effects of the boriding process on adhesion and tribological properties of AISI 310 steel were investigated. Boriding was performed in a solid medium consisting of Ekabor-II powders at 1123 and 1323K for 2 and 6 h. The boride layer was characterized by optical microscopy, the X-ray diffraction technique and the micro-Vickers hardness tester. The X-ray diffraction analy...
متن کاملTorsional Tribological Behavior and Torsional Friction Model of Polytetrafluoroethylene against 1045 Steel
In this work, the plane-on-plane torsional fretting tribological behavior of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) was studied. A model of a rigid, flat-ended punch acting on an elastic half-space was built according to the experimental conditions. The results indicate that the shape of T-θ curves was influenced by both the torsional angle and the normal load. The torsion friction torque and wear rate...
